I Will Not Sign the Statement of Shared Values of MIT

http://www.mitvalues.org/

The first and second bullet points of the statement of shared values are inconsistent (and very nontrivially so) and cannot both be upheld values at the same time. I believe in particular that at a time of such public disagreement over where the boundary lies between regions where one of the two values can be allowed to override the other, it is rather irresponsible to claim universal affirmation of both without any hint of how one views the boundary of collision between these values.

I am fairly willing to endorse the third bullet point.
